OBITUARY for Loris Cathcart (1911- 1915)
On June 19, 2015 Loris Cathcart passed away peacefully at the age of 104 - An unforgettable person beloved by all who knew her.
She will be sadly missed by her children Stella (Bill), Andrew (Maria), Gaye (Gary), son-in-law Andrew, 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Eric and her daughters Jennifer and Erica "Lambie".
Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at First
Presbyterian Church, 10025-105 Street interment and reception will follow at
Westlawn Memorial Gardens 10132-163 St. In lieu of flowers donations may be
made to the Salvation Army or Hope Mission.

OBITUARY for Agnes Eileen Beissel (1916 - 2015)
Oct 30,1916 - June 5, 2015
It is with heavy hearts that the
family of Agnes Beissel announce the loss of their dear Mum, Granny and
Great-Gran. She is survived by her son Don (Eileen), daughters Daryle and
Denise; Grandchildren Sean (Heidi), Matt (Dilila), Cathy and Ryan;
great-grandchildren Keilyn, Michael, Hanna, Ethan, Josie, Connor and Emma,
cousin Charlie, her faithful companion Bella, numerous nieces and nephews,
sisters-in-law Kay and Marie and many lifelong friends. She was predeceased
by her husband Arnold and her son Dave. A celebration of her life was
held on June 12, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, 10025-105
St. Edmonton.
A Private family interment was held following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Palliative care unit at the Royal Alex Hospital.

Community Dinner (June 27)
We are grateful to everyone involved
in the community dinners at First Church. Without the support of our
volunteers and donors these dinners would not happen. With their help we
are proud to say that the dinners are now a sustainable event.
The next community dinner will be June 27 and then the volunteers will be taking a well-deserved break in July and August.

AGM for Edmonton District Council of Churches (June 7 @ 3:00 pm)
On June 7th, the annual general meeting of the Edmonton District Council of Churches (EDCC) will be held at First Presbyterian Church, Edmonton at 3:00 PM.
The Council is a group that works ecumenically on issues of common concern for Christians, including common worship, justice issues, education and dialogue with other faiths to build a better society for Edmonton that is safe, peaceful, just and harmonious. Rev. Currie (Minister at First Church) is the vice-president of the EDCC.
OBITUARY for Margaret (Margie) Gwendolyn BABUK
Margaret (Margie) Babuk nee Lyster passed away peacefully in the early hours of Monday, May 25, 2015 in Calgary, AB.
Margie was born in Cabri, SK and was the youngest of Susan and Joseph Lyster's six children. Her father worked for the CPR. Margie attended school in Empress, AB. She then trained for nursing and dental work. She and her husband married while he was the railroad station agent and the telegrapher at Empress. They raised four children. With the railway, the family lived in rural Saskatchewan and Alberta at Lemsford, Jenner, Torrington, Success, Pennant, Grassy Lake, Vulcan, and Estevan before settling in Calgary.
She was predeceased by her husband and all of her siblings. Margie leaves behind her children Tom (Mav), Barb (Bob), Darrel (LynnAnn) and Chad (Tracy), as well as grandchildren Greg, Kris, Jason, Ryan, Sarah, Molly, Clayton and Breena. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren.
Margie was an avid reader and followed Canadian politics and world events. She was a Calgary Stampeders fan. She asked that special thanks be extended to Dr. Vacy-Lyle as well as to staff at Lake Bonavista Village where she enjoyed the last 10 years of her life.
At her request, no funeral will be held. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca.

Bible Study returns in the Fall
Bible Study has been adjourned until September. Thank you to all who participated!
There are a few chapters of Acts remaining, which will be covered in the fall sessions before commencing with the book of REVELATION.
